Yogurt+Fruit bar

It has been a routine with my crazy friends whoever is available to visit synagogue every Sunday. After the mass we head straight to Qoola “Frozen yogurt +fruit bar.

Qoola is a Canadian company which is a brand new in metro. Having never gone to any other Qoola locations, I wasn't sure what to expect. But it's basically a self serve frozen yogurt bar, where you get your own paper cup, swirl your own frozen yogurt into the container, and put any toppings you want.

The first thing I noticed is that the cup they provide is HUGE. This is the tricky bit, because you pay by the weight, and you naturally want to fill that big cup, right? Beware. But what's great is that they have a lot of choice as far as frozen yogurt go, lychee, strawberry, original and I forget the other one. You don’t have to worry you can ask for a free taste.

I choose Lychee yogurt- it tasted very much like lychee, with slightly smoky undercurrent, if that makes sense. Afterwards, we headed to the toppings counter. They have a variety of fresh fruits, cereals, chocolates, nuts and even gummy bears. They also have syrups which you can pour onto your yogurt ice cream. The flavors of the syrup are caramel, maple, honey and chocolate.

Warning: you pay it by weight:)

My verdict: it’s yummy but it will take a bang of your pocket- tad pricey but still, I’ll return for a once in a while treat and aside from yogurt ice cream, they also have smoothies which are also self-served.

Qoola is located between Greenbelt 1 and 2 (near National Bookstore). They have free wifi but they don’t have outlets here. Better have your laptops fully charged before coming in. The crew here are very friendly and they’ll teach you how to operate the yogurt ice cream machine.

Life is good!

So we need to savour each mouthful yogurt. You're not eating to survive. You're eating to live:)

How was your weekend?

Start of a new month...June

Every day is a chance to start anew. Every day is a new beginning. While trite, the previous sayings
are quite true, and on this month of June I have decided to take them to heart. I have looked at
my life and have come to the realization that I'm making some pretty big mistakes.
These mistakes don't just impact me, but others. So time for me to have a look back
on my list on things that I need to break which previously posted here in my blog.(here)

To start a good vibe for the new month. I meet my two girlfriends  in a different days.
They are the channel of my love and affection which act as a big part of me.
Without love and affection life would be cold and dark:)

And the best way to bond?  Shop at Schu; dinner at Ween Nam Kee : they have the best chicken and UCC Coffee Cafe:)

Everyone needs friends for different reasons. Maybe you need friends so that you are
not alone in the afternoons when you get down and start thinking negative thoughts.
Maybe your neighbor needs friends so that they have someone to dote on and take care of.
We all need companionship, love, and acceptance, and that is why friends, and the friendships
 we form are so important.

To Liz aka thereissomethingaboutmaria and to my travel buddy Cristine...
both of you are like pair of shoes you make me happy.
I can just toss both of you into my suitcase and  I know I will look fabulous
no matter what the weekend throws at me.

Have a good start of the month guys!

Life is good!

A dinner for 2

I just had a wonderful night. A late dinner with a good friend to celebrate his new work, new wardrobe - It took us a whole Saturday to revamp his look. So goodbye to loose shirts and jeans. Hello Polished look.

We had our dinner at Cafe Go-Go. The place is not your typical coffee shop with its different shape wood tables, comfy coach, big chairs and carefree interior accents. The interior lighting is relaxing, but not to the point of making you doze off. It reminds me of my fave third place, when I was trying to be scholarly and finish my master degree for MBA. So I guess this place would be on my top list. A place where I can just relax, play, and bond with the people closest to me.

Thank you to my good friend for the lovely night and for showing me to never be afraid of changes in life..to embrace it, enjoy it, to improve my life.

I realized that we can change some things that we think we can not. The key to being able to change things that seem out of our control is to open our mind to alternatives. When we start looking for alternative solutions we may not be able to find big changes but small ones can help.

To my good friend, a big thanks and goodluck!

Loving myself

Yesterday morning I was hoping that I can visit BRO. So wake up early in the morning but still  I failed. I took the wrong bus so I ended up having a cup of joe and sweets at Krispy kreme perfect for the cold weather.

I’m not a big fun of sweets but Krispy Kreme are completely and utterly heavenly for every donut lovers. A store dedicated entirely to supplying sweet toothed customers. They are famous for their traditional glazed ring doughnut. It is plain but simply offers the best taste. The dough has such a light consistency that it basically melts in your mouth.

They are offering…a choice of classic Krufin or Cinnamon Pull Apart with brewed signature coffee for 99 php/ $2.25 such a good deal.  I’m a cinnamon lover, so anything with cinnamon, I always need to try.

Cinnamon Pull Apart has a hole in the middle and it’s filled with cream topped.  It wasn’t too sweet and the muffin was really soft, like it’s even melting in my mouth along with the cream.
The coffee is rich in aroma and it tastes a real coffee!

I seated on the corner and realized its been long since the last time I dated myself..Yes!
My Self ! and I’m loving every minute of it. It’s like embracing the inner you.

So for this year, I would schedule time with myself. I would literally take myself out on a date and spend that time totally focused on myself. It’s my time. We spend so much time and energy focused on others that we forget to recharge the source of that energy. It is only when you are well that you can have the energy and internal resources to make a positive difference and help others. This is a simple, yet powerful concept that can dramatically improve your well being, effectiveness and mental health.

For a change this year, love yourself! You deserve it!

Mcdo Love ko 'to

Since its inception, McDonald’s is a customer-oriented company that strives to offer Filipinos a combination of great tasting, quality food products at value prices with excellent service. They recently held a refreshing course for customer service for Makati area Managers at Mcdo Valero. I was invited and delighted to take part of the training. Areas Managers are well trained to offer the most relevant customer delight experience to every customer who enters to the world of Mcdo.

Why do I love Mcdo let me count my ways?

1. Free and Clean Toilets - McDonalds has the same standards around the world.  We knew that if we had to go to the bathroom, we could duck into a McDonalds without fear of having to pay a fee or buy a coffee.

2. Coffee to go - I don’t think it is part of the Filipino culture to drive or walk with a coffee in hand.  It is a tradition to sit down and savour a rich and delicious cup a joe while visiting with friends and soaking in the atmosphere.  But today our society unfortunately is always on the go…like me:)

3. Free Wifi – bloggers and avid funs of social networking will enjoy this freebie to stay connected.  It can be difficult to find affordable wifi and you could always count on McDonalds.  You could bring in your laptops, find a quiet corner, and plug in to their power outlets and work.  All you have to do is buy an affordable meal, coffee or ice cream and you could work for hours on end.  People came and went and nobody even noticed that you’re there.

4. McCafés – The pastries were delicious and the cappuccinos were rich and creamy.  The McCafés brought a certain class to McDonalds. They served coffees and pastries on ceramic plates, they took their time making a proper café au lait and they looked good.

5. Breakfast - McDonalds has egg McMuffins just like your home and you can stop in and grab a couple.  The easiest and most affordable way to find your morning eggs and pancake:)

6. Cheap and Easy -McDonalds is a cheap alternative.  Sometimes it can be exhausting trying to find a place to eat out. Especially on a busy day.  McDonalds is an easy choice.  It is also fast.  You could pop in and get out fast when traveling from one city to another or working late hours. Some McDonald branch are open 24/7.

My All time Favorite: French Fries!

Special thanks to Mrs. Grace Tijam (Marketing and Sales department) and Mrs. Lilian Balgos for the invite. The Mcdo Freebies are Yummy:)
